Mission

The College of Health Sciences (CHS) at the American University in the Emirates is committed to preparing practice-ready, compassionate, and innovative healthcare professionals who contribute to the UAE’s and the global community’s health and wellbeing. Guided by AUE’s mission, the CHS provides high-quality, interdisciplinary education, research, and community engagement in Nursing and Physiotherapy. Through evidence-based teaching, immersive simulation, clinical training, and leadership development, the College equips graduates with the skills, knowledge, and values to advance healthcare excellence, address national workforce needs, and promote lifelong learning, innovation, and social impact.

Goals & Objectives

Goal 1: Deliver High-Quality, Student-Centered Education

  • Design and implement curricula in UAE CAA Nursing and Physiotherapy that meet and international accreditation standards.
  • Ensure all programs are outcomes-based, competency-driven, and aligned with national healthcare priorities.
  • Embed evidence-based teaching strategies, flipped classrooms, simulation, and digital/VR technologies in learning.

Goal 2: Enhance Clinical Training and Practice Readiness

  • Provide structured simulation-based training and supervised clinical placements to ensure safe, competent practice.
  • Establish partnerships with hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and community providers for diverse clinical exposure.
  • Develop student competencies in critical thinking, decision-making, teamwork, and patient-centered care.

Goal 3: Foster Lifelong Learning and Professional Development

  • Cultivate student skills in self-directed learning, reflective practice, and continuous improvement.
  • Prepare graduates for licensure examinations (DHA, DOH, MOH) and professional certification.
  • Integrate inter-professional education to prepare students for collaborative healthcare environments.

Goal 4: Promote Global Citizenship and Leadership in Healthcare Education

  • Embed cultural competence, ethics, and global health perspectives within the curriculum.
  • Encourage student participation in leadership, peer mentoring, and academic support initiatives.
  • Develop graduates who can contribute to healthcare innovation and leadership within the UAE and globally.
