Step 1 · Before you apply
Requirements depend on the high school certificate you hold. Find your certificate type below.
A
Original copy of the Secondary School Certificate, attested by the UAE Ministry of Education. Applicants to all undergraduate programs must meet the minimum scores for direct admission (see the admission criteria below) and demonstrate proficiency in subjects related to their field of study.

Holders of a non-UAE high school certificate obtained abroad are processed in accordance with UAE Ministry of Education decrees. In general, holders of a foreign National High School Certificate are eligible if:

The minimum average for admission in part (A) is applied
✓
The certificate is considered for admission to public universities in the country where it was issued
✓
The certificate was obtained after at least 11 years of schooling
✓
It includes at least 6 subjects covering Mathematics, Sciences, Languages, and Social Sciences & Humanities or Arts
✓
For two-level certificate systems, the higher-level certificate is submitted
✓
Certificate of equivalency from the UAE Ministry of Education

The minimum average for admission in part (A) is applied

High School Diploma (grades 10, 11 & 12) attested by the UAE Ministry of Education

A minimum of seven (7) subjects at O-level and AS/A2 level (5 O-level plus 2 AS/A level), with a minimum grade of “C”, covering at least four of these fields:

Probation admission: students who don't achieve the minimum average for direct admission (except for Bachelor of Law and Bachelor of Business Administration) are admitted on probation for one semester, with a maximum of 12 credit hours, and must achieve a minimum CGPA of 2.0 by the end of the semester. Students who don't meet this condition will be dismissed from the program.
Program by program
Minimum high school average, subject-specific scores, English proficiency and subject-based competency for every undergraduate program.

IELTS Academic
Home editions of the TOEFL and IELTS tests are not accepted — candidates must sit the test at an authorized testing center.
Conditional admission: students who don't meet the TOEFL or IELTS requirement are conditionally admitted to the Intensive English Program (IEP) at the English Language Institute (ELI), provided they obtain 500+ AUE TOEFL, 5.0+ Academic IELTS or 61+ iBT TOEFL before the end of their first semester.
Placement tests
New undergraduate students sit placement tests according to their program. Students who don't pass take a preparatory course in that subject during their first semester.

Good to know
Students taking preparatory courses can enroll in a maximum of 12 credit hours of regular courses in their first semester.

Step 1
Review the admission requirements, language proficiency requirements and placement tests above.

Step 2
Apply online through the AUE admissions portal. Make sure you've read the admission requirements carefully before applying.

Step 3
Once you complete the form and upload your documents, you'll receive a tracking number to follow your application. The admission office will send your confirmation email or offer as soon as possible.
