Message from the Dean

The College of Law at the American University in the Emirates welcomes you to its webpage, where you can learn everything you need to know about the college - one of the most distinguished legal learning institutions at both a local and regional level.

In addition to the Bachelor of Law program, the College of Law's specialized faculty members also oversee several postgraduate degrees, namely, the Master's in Arbitration, Master's in Criminal Sciences, Master's in Professional Sports Law, and Master's in Intellectual Property.

There is no doubt that the College of Law at the American University in the Emirates is one of the most pioneering private colleges in the Emirates and an academic leader when it comes to supporting regional jurists and researchers and developing the capabilities of legal practitioners in the UAE.

To date, the College of Law has concluded agreements, memorarida of understanding, and cooperation with public and private sectors for the development and advancement of legal education in the UAE. The college continues to push the possibilities for legal training of its students and regularly organizes training courses to help them reach their professional potentials. Similarly, the college fully supports and encourages its faculty members to maintain up to date research and publish their findings in international journals.

Mission
  • To provide legal training for students, ensuring the UAE’s established foundations of justice are protected and the application of laws surrounding rights and freedoms are respected.
  • To establish principles and rules that contribute to the protection of human rights and basic freedoms, as well as working on raising the status of the individual.
  • To provide learners with the skills required to conduct legal research that will contribute towards serving their community.
  • To improve students’ linguistic capacities and expand their understanding of the Arabic language and its definitions, preparing them to be high-functioning legal practitioners with professional discussion techniques and dialogue management skills.
  • To prepare legal staff to cope with new legal developments.
