Dr. Mirna Saad is an Assistant Professor at the College of Education, American University in the Emirates (AUE), Dubai, where she teaches Geography and Introduction to Research. She holds a PhD in Human Geography, specializing in Urban Planning, and a master’s degree in economics and Geographic Development of Cities from the Lebanese University, Beirut. She combines academic expertise with extensive professional experience in urban development, master planning, and engineering consultancy through GEO (Global Engineering Office).
Her academic and research interests encompass human and urban geography, sustainable urban development, climate change, urban resilience, remote sensing, smart cities, eco-innovation, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). She has contributed to scholarly research through publications in international academic journals, with a particular focus on geographical analysis, environmental sustainability, and contemporary urban challenges.
Dr. Saad currently serves as President of the Emirates Geographical Society, where she promotes geographical research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and professional knowledge exchange. She has also participated in regional and international academic conferences and professional initiatives, contributing to discussions on sustainable development, renewable energy, and the evolving role of geography in addressing global and regional challenges.
